PWA International Championship

The International Championship, also known as the Australian Championship, has a proud lineage dating back to the birth of modern Queensland Wrestling. The Australian Championship was created as the Pro Wrestling Alliance (PWA) International Championship and was crowned in 2007 at Rise of the Warriors 1 where Mason Childs defeated international guest Chris Hero. The title served as the top title right through PWAQueensland's tenure slightly changing its name to the PWAQ World Championship in 2011. Mystery was the last champion recognized in the PWAQ tenure. Apex Wrestling (via HIW) gained the rights to use the championship in 2014 and NCPW and CCW in 2016 which means the strong legacy of the Australian Championship continued and strengthen. In August of 2018, the rights to the title and lineage were sold to John Carter.
